Two questions shape most timelines: whether your category is backlogged, and whether a child will turn 21 too soon. These tools give a first answer; your attorney should confirm the final calculation from your actual documents.

Based on the October 2026 Visa Bulletin. Backlogs follow country of birth, not nationality.

Child age-out (CSPA) checker

Children must still count as under 21 to immigrate with you. The Child Status Protection Act lets you subtract I-526E processing time. If your category is current when the I-526E is approved, your child's CSPA age is effectively their age on the filing date; if there's a backlog, your child keeps ageing while you wait.

Is your category current for your country of birth?

Please note: this is a simplified estimate under the policy in force since August 15, 2025 (Final Action Dates decide when a visa is available). It doesn't cover every case; for example, applications filed between February 2023 and August 2025 may fall under the earlier policy. The child must also seek permanent residence within a year of the visa becoming available. For guidance only; have your attorney confirm.
